The Sempre are TENCEL shorts made from 92% TENCEL Lyocell, a naturally derived fiber produced through a closed-loop process that recovers and reuses 99% of the solvents used to make it. No petroleum-based inputs. No PFAS chemical finishes. The synthetic component is limited to 8% spandex for stretch and shape recovery, nothing more.
Why TENCEL Lyocell sits differently against skin
TENCEL Lyocell has a naturally smooth fiber surface that moves moisture away from the skin during activity. It does this through the physical structure of the fiber, not through a synthetic moisture-wicking treatment. Compared to polyester, TENCEL Lyocell keeps the skin surface cooler and drier during low to moderate intensity movement, which makes it well suited to yoga, pilates, barre, and walking.
Construction
The Sempre TENCEL shorts are cut for precision fit and unrestricted movement. A high-rise V-back waistband sits in place through every position. A diamond crotch gusset eliminates friction. The interlock weft knit at 240 GSM is squat proof and fully opaque without feeling heavy. A 6 inch inseam keeps coverage where it matters.
Fiber certification
The TENCEL Lyocell fiber in the Sempre shorts is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified through Lenzing AG, the fiber producer. This certification covers the fiber at production level. Bellissima does not currently hold finished product OEKO-TEX certification. That distinction matters and we state it clearly.
