Bellissima's Sempre Shorts are built around a specific waistband construction that addresses each of those failure points. The waistband uses a V-back cut that anchors the rear panel at a higher point on the back, distributing the upward pull of the waistband more evenly and reducing the forward roll that affects flat-back waistbands during hip flexion. There is no front rise seam, which removes the central pressure point that most high-waisted shorts press into the lower abdomen. The waistband is made from the same 92% TENCEL Lyocell and 8% spandex as the body of the short, so the hand feel against the skin at the waist is consistent with the feel across the rest of the garment. At the body, the Sempre Shorts have a 6 inch inseam, a diamond crotch gusset, and squat-proof, fully opaque construction.

The Sempre Shorts are designed for yoga, pilates, barre, reformer pilates, and walking. For reformer pilates and barre specifically, a short inseam gives the instructor and the wearer a clear view of leg alignment and foot position, which is a practical benefit over full-length leggings. The 6 inch inseam provides adequate coverage for floor work and movement without restricting range of motion at the hip. The diamond crotch gusset eliminates the inner thigh seam that conventional shorts concentrate at the area of highest friction and movement. TENCEL Lyocell absorbs moisture into the fiber structure at the sweat output levels produced by these activities, maintaining a dry, comfortable feel against the inner thighs and lower abdomen through full sessions. The shorts are squat proof and fully opaque in all positions, including forward bends and deep squats.
Honest Limitations and Certification Disclosure
The Sempre Shorts are not designed for running, cycling, HIIT, hot yoga, or sustained high-sweat activity. At high sweat output, TENCEL Lyocell absorbs moisture to saturation and the feel against skin changes. Synthetic moisture-wicking fabrics perform differently at those output levels. Bellissima does not position these shorts beyond their honest performance range. The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification applies to the TENCEL Lyocell fiber through Lenzing AG at the raw material level. The finished Bellissima garment does not hold independent finished-product OEKO-TEX certification.
