Sports Bras for Studio Training
Two Styles, One Fabric
Bellissima makes two sports bras: the Sempre Twist Bra and the Sempre Halter Bra. Both are 92% TENCEL Lyocell and 8% spandex, both feature removable EVA foam pads, and both are designed for yoga, pilates, barre, reformer, and low-impact training. The Sempre Twist Bra has a V-cut front, a fabric twist at the back, a straight bottom hem, and double-layer construction. The Sempre Halter Bra has a halterneck front, a backless design, and a lower chest line. The choice between them is primarily aesthetic and activity-specific. The Twist Bra suits practitioners who prefer more back coverage; the Halter Bra suits those who prefer an open back, which reads better in reformer and yoga positions where the back is visible. Both are available in black, sizes XS to XL. TENCEL Lyocell has a smooth fiber surface that sits against skin without the scratching or pilling associated with synthetic bra linings, which matters during extended practice (Lenzing AG, 2023).
What These Bras Are Built For
Bellissima sports bras are built for controlled, studio-based activity. In yoga, the fabric moves with the body through twists, inversions, and chest openers without pulling or shifting. In pilates and barre, the double-layer construction of the Twist Bra provides coverage during forward bends and prone positions. In reformer practice, the bras remain in place across the range of carriage positions without requiring adjustment. TENCEL Lyocell absorbs moisture into the fiber rather than leaving it on the skin surface, which keeps the bra comfortable during moderate-intensity sessions where sweat builds gradually rather than acutely (Öner et al., 2013). The removable EVA foam pads are designed to be removed and replaced easily, which matters for washing and for practitioners who prefer padding-free wear in certain activities.
What These Bras Are Not
Bellissima sports bras are not encapsulated support bras. They do not provide the structured, motion-controlling support required for running, HIIT, Bikram yoga at sustained exertion, or any activity involving repeated high-impact movement. For those activities, a bra with underwire or encapsulated construction is the appropriate choice. The TENCEL Lyocell content also means these bras are not optimized for peak sweat output. At sustained maximum intensity, moisture absorption into the fiber can feel heavy rather than wicking. For yoga, pilates, barre, reformer, and walking, performance is genuine. The TENCEL Lyocell fiber carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification through Lenzing AG at the fiber level. Bellissima does not currently hold finished-product OEKO-TEX certification.
What sports bras does Bellissima make?
Two styles: the Sempre Twist Bra (V-cut front, fabric twist at back, double layer, straight hem) and the Sempre Halter Bra (halterneck, backless, lower chest line). Both are 92% TENCEL Lyocell and 8% spandex with removable EVA foam pads, available in black, sizes XS to XL.
What is the fabric composition of the sports bras?
92% TENCEL Lyocell and 8% spandex. TENCEL Lyocell is a plant-based fiber from sustainably managed forests, produced in a closed-loop system by Lenzing AG. It is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified at the fiber level.
Are Bellissima sports bras good for running?
No. Bellissima sports bras are designed for yoga, pilates, barre, and reformer training, not for running or high-impact activity. They do not provide encapsulated support and are not designed for the sustained impact of running.
Do the bras have removable pads?
Yes. Both the Sempre Twist Bra and Sempre Halter Bra include removable EVA foam pads. They can be worn with or without pads depending on preference and activity.
What is the difference between the Twist Bra and Halter Bra?
The Twist Bra has a V-cut front, a fabric twist at the back, double-layer construction, and a straight bottom hem. The Halter Bra has a halterneck front, a backless design, and a lower chest line. Both are the same fabric and have the same pad system. The difference is aesthetic and back-coverage preference.
