The Sempre Halter Bra is Bellissima's backless bra design. It has a halterneck front, a lower chest line, and a drop armhole that keeps the back fully open. The construction is 92% TENCEL Lyocell and 8% spandex, with removable EVA foam pads that sit in a lined interior pocket. The halterneck strap ties at the nape of the neck, which allows the fit to be adjusted across the XS to XL size range. The lower chest line and open back make this the preferred choice for practitioners who want maximum skin exposure during heated practice or who wear the bra as a visible style element rather than purely as a support layer. TENCEL Lyocell has a smooth fiber surface that does not irritate the skin at the strap contact points during extended wear, which is relevant for halter-style bras where the neckline carries load (Lenzing AG, 2023). The bra is fully opaque at the front despite its low construction.
Where the Halter Bra Works Best
The Sempre Halter Bra is suited to yoga, pilates, barre, reformer, and low-impact training where movement is controlled and the need for impact support is low. In yoga, the open back allows for unrestricted shoulder rotation and spinal extension without strap interference. In reformer practice, the backless design eliminates the back strap friction that can occur against the carriage pad in prone and supine positions. In barre, the halterneck silhouette is a clean aesthetic match for the practice. TENCEL Lyocell absorbs moisture at the skin contact points during moderate-intensity sessions, keeping the bra comfortable through a full class without the surface wetness common with synthetic bra linings (Öner et al., 2013). Removable pads allow the bra to function with or without padding depending on the practitioner's preference for a given session.
Support Level and Honest Ceiling
The Sempre Halter Bra is a low-to-medium support bra. It is not designed for running, HIIT, or any sustained high-impact activity. The halterneck construction places load at the nape of the neck rather than distributing it across the back, which is appropriate for controlled studio movement but not for the repetitive vertical impact of running. For yoga, pilates, barre, and reformer, this bra provides adequate support without restriction. For Bikram-style hot yoga at 105 degrees Fahrenheit, the TENCEL Lyocell content absorbs moisture rather than wicking it, which can feel heavy at sustained maximum exertion. The TENCEL Lyocell fiber is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified at the fiber level through Lenzing AG. Bellissima does not currently hold finished-product OEKO-TEX certification.
